Stopper® II STI-1100
I now require this protection for all bar/nightclub or similar assembly occupancies and have virtually eliminated malicious false alarms at these locations. I strongly recommend these products in most new construction where a potential problem exists, such as daycares, schools, children's medical facilities (pediatric clinics and dentist offices), or where accidental activation may occur due to increased activity or work at or near the pull stations. Great products that simply make great sense!

Stopper® II STI-1100
You really can't blame the kids. At our local elementary school the light switch on the wall was so close to the manual pull station that the students would activate the alarm by mistake. Previously, I had recommended a number of STI Stopper II units to solve a false fire alarm problem in another part of town and they cut the number of false fire alarms there from six a year to zero. So I suggested installing a Stopper II for the problem at the school and it worked great.

When I was a fire chief for the Department of Defense up here in Alaska, I required the use of STI Stopper II covers over our manual pull stations to prevent false fire alarms and vandalism. Most of it was the work of young pranksters in the barracks and other similar military facilities. I'm retired now as a DoD fire chief but I know what Stopper IIs can do. STI Stopper II covers worked out well for us in two areas. First, in high school gyms to protect manual pull stations from being hit by basketballs. The STI Stopper II is a good deterrent to false fire alarms and I suggest it often. Stopper® II STI-1100
When we receive a pull station false alarm we have our Fire Inspectors follow up and write orders to install the protective cover with sounder. Most of our schools, daycare centers, and assembly occupants have installed the STI Stopper II just about anywhere there are kids in the area. We have extremely lowered pull station false fire alarms, the only ones we seem to have now are the ones without the covers. These protective covers sure seem to help in our community.

Stopper® II STI-1100
We were having problems with false fire alarms coming from manual pull stations in our high school and a local church where they play sports. At first, we thought it was caused by balls hitting the pull stations. But then we noticed the false fire alarms seemed to be timed to when classes were letting out. Conclusion: Those false fire alarms weren't all accidental. We recommended installing about seven STI
Stopper II units and that took care of both problems. The STI Stopper IIs work great!

It might sound strange, but we have had a number of cases where confused people mistake manual pull stations located near front entrances as door opening devices or—in some instances—as ‘door bells.' It's not malicious but it does result in a false fire alarm nevertheless. We recommended installing STI Stopper II devices over those manual pull stations and those kinds of problems ceased immediately. Also, we have suggested their use in a number of municipally owned buildings where there were false fire alarms and the results have been equally successful.

Stopper® II STI-1100
We recommend—almost command—the installation of STI Stopper II devices wherever there are manual pull stations and the potential is there for false fire alarms. They have done more than cut down on them in almost all cases—false fire alarms have gone down to zero Stopper II is a great product!
Hospitals have been our biggest problem area in the past with schools second. But not now with the Stopper II. An awful lot of manual pull stations are located next to stairs and entrances where it's so easy to pull the alarm in a crowd and the culprit is out the door before anybody knows who did it. A Stopper II cover over the manual pull station gives them pause and it just doesn't happen any more.

Widebody Keypad Protector, Stopper® II, Thermostat Protector STI-1100, STI-6550, STI-9100
As I travel around on inspections, I recommend the use of STI protectors wherever there are kids around. Fire Extinguisher Theft Stopper® STI-6200
We have been very satisfied with STI's products in particular the Extinguisher Theft Stopper, which has reduced the loss of equipment to a satisfying zero on our site at The Luton and Dunstable Hospital. Needless running of the rigs because of malicious false fire alarms can be costly and dangerous. So we suggest the use of STI Stopper II units to protect manual pull stations where there are problems, such as in daycare centers and schools. The Stopper II devices work real well.
