STI's cabinet helps alleviate temperature concerns
The STI Metal Protective Cabinet (STI-7560AC) allows a fire alarm control panel to be mounted in temperatures exceeding normal parameters.
The extra large, super tough, metal enclosure offers protection against vandalism, either accidental or intentional, as well as dirt, dust and grime. Unlike competitive models, this enclosure has a clear window allowing the unit within to be seen and quickly identified.
The AC unit allows sensitive devices to be installed in areas suffering from damaging conditions, such as outside condos or apartments, in factories and warehouses or other locations that could be dirty or experience high humidity. The enclosure can also eliminate the expense of air conditioning an unmanned warehouse or building a climate controlled room just for the panel.
To help maintain the correct range of operating temperatures, the AC unit cycles as required and a fan runs continuously to sustain a uniform temperature inside the enclosure. The AC unit has a remote digital controller and a low ambient operation package to help prevent it from freezing. This allows the unit to work in cold temperatures without causing the AC lines to freeze. Cabinet is cost effective and low maintenance. The slim, external side mounted AC unit helps minimize space intrusion.
The STI-7560AC is self-contained and allows for optimal central location of the control panel. This will reduce expensive long and expensive wiring runs from an inefficiently placed control panel and eliminate the need to wire to an isolated storage room. Installers will save on equipment, wiring costs and even the labor of constructing a room specifically for the unit.
This cabinet's dimensions are impressive. The housing can protect a unit up to 21 x 33 x 6 inches (533 x 838 x 152 mm) with proper air flow and the clear window is 10 x 10 inches (254 x 254 mm). Mounting hardware is included and tamperproof mounting screws are available. A model with AC and heat is also available (STI-7550AH).
